Anxiety, Grief, and Trauma Counseling

Jean Lampert

My Approach

I approach you as a whole-person, understanding that true healing takes place on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. Psychotherapy with me is an opportunity  to for you to explore your experiences and gain the insight, understanding and awareness needed for transformation. Through EMDR Therapy and Somatic Experiencing, I assist you in stabilizing, increasing resliency, and growing. I respect and honor the search for meaning that often takes place during difficult times, and blend psychology, spirituality, and contemplative practices in my counseling work.

About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about my work. I have always been intuitive and compassionate, and I knew as a young child I would put these  qualities to use in my professional life. After years of working in  non-profit and higher education settings, I launched my psychotherapy  practice. I appreciate the focused time I can offer my clients in  private practice, and the freedom to run my counseling business in a  way that leaves me energized and engaged.

Education and Training

I hold an M.Ed. in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard  University Graduate School of Education, and a M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California State University. I earned my B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from Scripps College of the Claremont Colleges.  I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), the Ventura County Chapter of CAMFT, and EMDRIA, the  EMDR International Association. I am a Somatic Experiencing Intermediate level Participant, and am trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model.
