Through body based approaches, specifically Somatic Experiencing, Somatic Focused EMDR, and Somatic Touch work, I assist you in stabilizing, increasing resiliency, and healing.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner who is passionate about the intersections of psychology and the physical body. After years of working in non-profit and higher education settings, I launched my psychotherapy practice. I appreciate the focused time I can offer my clients in private practice, and the freedom to run my counseling business in a way that leaves me energized and engaged.
I hold an M.Ed. in Human Development and Psychology from Harvard University Graduate School of Education, and a M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California State University. I earned my B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from Scripps College of the Claremont Colleges. I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner Assistant, and am trained in the Trauma Resiliency Model. My Professional Affiliations include the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), the Ventura County Chapter of CAMFT, the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute, and EMDRIA, the EMDR International Association.
